Tower LightingYou can become a Lighting Partner for the Rastin Tower and/or Downtown Pedestrian Bridge and honor someone you love or celebrate a special occasion, while providing a donation to Ariel-Foundation Park Conservancy.  A special message from a Lighting Partner is paired with colorful lighting as a way to promote community communication and help Ariel-Foundation Park too!  Please note:  We need at least one-week advance notice and lighting requests are subject to review, approval and availability.

Lightings are intended to assist in:

  • Celebrating special anniversaries and birthday milestones
  • Announcing weddings paired with wedding colors
  • Providing schools and alumni colorful options for posting special messages
  • Announcing retirements, awards and honors
  • Elevating awareness of community causes or related regional messages (e.g. health screening and prevention awareness campaigns/efforts)

Terms of Application:

  • Applicants will be officially notified of request approval or denial via e-mail or phone.
  • Unavailable lighting dates include January 1, July 4, December 25 or any other dates the Ariel-Foundation Park Conservancy has a specific community lighting arrangement planned.
  • Ariel-Foundation Park Conservancy is under no obligation to provide any feedback if application is denied and has sole discretion over what lightings are and are not approved.
  • There is no automatic lighting agreement renewal, therefore current/past Lighting Partners must apply each year to be considered.
  • Beyond Ariel-Foundation Park Conservancy’s included publicity, all additional promotion or sharing of the lighting is the responsibility of the applicant.
  • Political campaigns or candidate messages are not eligible for lighting rental consideration.
  • Lighting messages will be displayed listing the contact name or names of those making the lighting rental request (e.g. The grandchildren of X, Club/Business Name, or Class Members of YEAR, an individual’s name), along with a specific message and a requested photo or photos, pending approval.

 Ariel-Foundation Park, located in Mount Vernon, Ohio, is a 250-acre civic park that offers a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors of all ages.

Visiting Hours

Ariel-Foundation Park is officially open April 1 through November 15. Some areas of the park are accessible to pedestrians year-round. Daily hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. There are no admissions or parking fees. The Rastin Observation Tower, park museum, picnic pavillions, trails and other park features are free and open to the public. The Rastin Observation Tower is open during winter months, as long as weather allows.
